Seoul Fantastic 2014 - Day 3

Stripes Day!

This is one of the new piece I bought for our OOTD. I do have stripey stuff but since it is early winter in Korea, we need something warm and yet nice. Ok~ I do have a stripey sweater top but that is very hugging around the tummy. Makes me uncomfortably conscious.

So I bought this new top from Uniqlo when we were shopping for 'these days are ours' sweaters. I only realised that this is made of wool when I was washing it. Ok, so I have spent $50 odd on a wool sweater. When can I ever wear it again?

We ran out of ideas for posing. We didn't really pose (to start with) but we thought it is getting bored on Day 3. So we just wanted and need to take a picture of our OOTD.

I think we didn't wake up as early as the itinerary stated so we made changes to our itinerary again.

1st stop became Gyeongbokgung.

It was still a cool day but very sunny so that will explain for some of our over-exposed pictures and our insistence to wear our shades.

I am always a History person so I love visiting palaces, museums and whatever that can tell me the history of the place. Strangely, I wasn't interested in Gyeongbokgung at all. Well... It could be due to the fact that I can sense that the girls aren't too keen about the palace. It could also be that we are still tired. It could also be due to the fact we didn't join any tours and there are no black and white explanation.

One of the "tour guide" told us that the entire walk will take like 2 hours? Instead of being excited, my first thought was 'Boring liao leh. I want to use this time to do other things, like shopping!' So we ended Gyeongbokgung with a very brief tour.

After Gyeongbokgung, we headed for Ginseng Chicken. Once again, our meals time became hey wire.

It was a very nice walk to our lunch venue. I like the tiled streets with autumns leaves. So scenic.

I am not sure what's up with this part of Seoul but you can see a policeman every 50m and they are eye candy ok! Similar to manhunt pageant criteria, they all have the similar (tall) height, very nice  fair complexion and cute looking. My kind of clean cut guys. So different from our (not tall and ah beng kuan) policemen. See liao also no trust.

It is supposed to be a 10 minutes walk but we got lost slightly so the walk ended up longer than supposed to be. It's OKAY cause we can eye feast on the policemen. The policemen were very nice to bring us to our location but as we walked slower, we slowed them down. After guiding us to our location, they have to catch up with loss time by running. So cute.

So we arrived at this strongly recommended by Yvon Ginseng Chicken restaurant. It was probably around 3pm but it was still almost full house!

Very traditional feel.
The ginseng chicken was served with a cup of tea and this tiny cup of liquid. Had no idea what it was but I (initially) thought it was some kung fu tea. So we cheered and downed the whole cup.

Halfway into the meal, Bec felt cold and the girls mentioned that I turned red. Our conclusion was that the ginseng chicken was too nutritious for Bec and I. We only realised that this tiny cup of liquid was actually alcohol and we are supposed to mix it into the soup! I bet the next table thought that we were 3 crazy tourists.

Very yummy meal and Yvon and I (almost) finished it.

Poor Bec felt unwell after the yummilicious lunch and was zombie-walking around. We tried to persuade her to go back to the hotel but she insisted to accompany us. Wah piang! Sick liao, walk so slow somemore and still want to fulfill the itinerary. So Yvon and I agreed that we need to 'chase' her back to the hotel to rest so that the 2 of us can cheong shopping!

After Bec relented and went back to the hotel, we rushed to Myeongdong to shop! We probably spent only 2 hours in Myeongdong but Yvon bought the entire Myeongdong back to HK. This woman has superb shopping power. She can buy anything and everything and has a valid reason/ use/ purpose for it. It is perfectly fine that she shops but she will psycho you into buying things that you may not want/ need as well. We went into every single skincare shop and she never fails to leave the shop with a bagful of stuff. Power la. Ok... I spent quite a bit as well but since I was running low on cash, I controlled my spending. If I had more cash, I will end up like her. Haha

So she bought too much stuff and we decided to drop our things back at the hotel and pick Bec up as well.

After picking Bec, we headed to Dongdaemun for BBQ dinner and shopping. Dinner was good!

We went for some shopping @ Dongdaemun after dinner. I was separated from the girls for a short while and that was when I realised my face was extremely red from the soju. I was extremely conscious of my red face as I could hear others' thoughts 'this girl need to drink so much anot?' so I can only be extremely glad when I reunited with the girls.

Typical Yvon shopped again! Haha. I bought a couple of tops, bottoms and accessories. I feel that I didn't buy enough! Haha. I said earlier, I was running low on cash and I didn't feel like changing or borrowing so I curbed my spending ALOT. :(

The night ended relatively early. I want to go Dongdaemun again!
