We all know Bec is a korean siao (in nicer term - korean fanatic) and she had travelled to Korea on her own before. Can't exactly remember how it happened or why it happened but my vague memory tells me that both Yvon and I wanted to go Korea and of course, we asked if she can "bring" us. I think she rejected us for the 2013 trip. Honestly, I didn't really expect her to agree to "bring" us. I remember she mentioned about enjoying the 'me' time in Korea ttm. Being very ji siao, I asked her in Sep 2013 to "bring" us in 2014 (provided that she is going and doesn't mind company). I can't exactly remember how and why she agreed to it though. All I remember is our planning took a year.!Machiam preparing for wedding like that.
So we kickstarted our planning with Bec planning the itinerary, Yvon checking the hotels and me taking care of the air tickets. Initial planning was slow and loose. Well... You never know if it will ever happen. As long as one person stops talking about it, the entire trip thingy will just fade away. So we had random conversations on where to go, what to see and do in Korea and Bec really puts in a lot of effort into planning. Yes, I know that cause I met her like a couple of times to discuss the itinerary. I am never an itinerary person so I never understand the need for the detailed planning or discussion.
Things were really going to happen when we all booked our air tickets in Sep!!! Ok. I wasn't excited about it (yet) but when October came, I could feel the excitement. We had the OOTD theme so we had numerous discussions on the themes, what to wear, how to match etc. Well... Guys will not understand this OOTD thingy cause the guys usually throw me the 'why do you all want to same' thingy look? We are NOT wearing the same outfits like some twins or triplets. For the fun of it, we are just wearing themed-clothes! If you still do not understand, never mind. You can understand in your next lifetime as a burdensome woman k.
Bec and I flew over from SG while Yvon flew over from HK. Just before the trip, I got a bit sian and didn't exactly feel like going. Well, the trip is too close to Valerie's birthday and there were just so many things to prepare for her birthday! Order cakes, buy goodie bag stuff, pack goodie bags etc. BUT I am superbly glad that we went for this out-of-the-world trip.
So Bec and I met up at 11ish pm at Changi airport and I had a quick meal before boarding. It was an overnight flight and I was mentally prepared for the lack of sleep. I took an overnight flight to Australia at the beginning of the year and the sleep was sooooo uncomfortable. Surprisingly, I had better rest on the way to Korea. Though the flight was shaky with a rude shock, I was more worried about my shoes getting lost than any mishaps. Sound so bimbotic right. Ok, I am pretty, not well-endowed only. Haha.
Our flight arrived 2-3 hours later than Yvon's. Bec was excited about being in Korea while I was excited about passing Yvon her sweater. I initiated the idea of wearing the same sweater cause I saw this heart shape sweater in H&M. Bec wasn't really that supportive but she eventually bought the idea as well but no size!!! So we went around shopping for the ideal sweater and it took us a couple of trips before we chanced upon 'these days are ours' sweater. I was pretty worried that Yvon wouldn't like the idea and till now, I still not know if she likes the idea and/ or sweater.
Anyway, we met up, changed into our sweaters, took a picture and took them off. Haha. Boarded a cab while ogling over the korean guy who directed us to our cab. Quite cute la but confirm can be better. Haha. It was a long journey to our hotel and we had so much fun and laughter in the cab. Come to think of it, if I am the cab driver, I think I will die ah~ Die from our loud volume and crazy laughter.
So we arrived in our small hotel room with hardly enough space to open our luggage. I spend the remaining 4-5 days hoping over Yvon's luggage.
Freshened up with Yvon telling me that her white hairs grow out naturally. WHOSE white hairs do not grow out naturally?????? Anyway, we are ready to hit the streets in 2 hours. OOTD for the day - floral and of course, I was the one to suggest floral. Haha.
Tried to take a OOTD picture in the hotel lobby but the mirror is too dark to capture the real colours.
Took another one at the subway.
Love love the subway mirror. SG should have such a BIG mirror as well. It is so natural (in Korea) for anyone to check themselves using these mirrors. Well, if we have such a mirror at our SG train stations, we will prob think to ourselves "got so vain anot?!?!?!?" Haha.
Namdaemum - our first stop!
Some bao that Bec wanted to recommend and share with us. Really good comfy food for the cold weather. <3 p="">3>
@ Myeongdong
Supposed to only rackee but I was so attracted by all the masks shops. I mean I have a shopping list of the skincare products. I remembered I kept asking Bec "We will come back again one right?"
Forgot what this is. King's dessert? Anyway, we bought a box to share but very sticky for the teeth.
Sharing even more food... Sweet potatoes, cuttlefish.
Yvon: You all want to eat this?
Bec and I: No.
Yvon: I buy one and we share k.
2nd stop on our itinerary - Myeongdong. While on the way to Myeongdong, I spotted this really handsome superstar alike hunk selling buns! If we were to go back again, I am going to buy a bun from him! The 1st Korean that caught my eye. Keke.

As the sun sets, the wind and cold set in and that is when my headache attacks me as well.
I am so glad for the army stew that cures my headache.
Spicy but makes you so warm and fuzzy in the cold weather.
Then the night came alive with all the roadside stalls. Yvon and I went mad. I went mad buying earrings. Haha.
We were so tired from the flight and walking that we were sold into doing a foot massage. It was supposed to be less than SGD20 for a 45 minutes. Worth right though I didn't quite want to do massage in Korea but I gave in to the idea cause it was reasonably priced and we were really tired. Desperate for some rest.
Just when we were getting ready for the massage, the lady told us that it is actually a 30+15 minutes massage, 30 minutes will be done by their masseurs and 15 minutes by machine. Machine?! Like wth right. You think we flew all the way here to use some OSIM machine meh? And I think they adjusted the price upwards a little. But heck la. We were so tired that we didn't want to argue with her and went ahead with the 30+15 minutes massage. Super pain but we fell into deep sleep still. Haha.
Our itinerary includes styling our hair the korean way for our clubbing night. We wanted to look chio. Haha. But we over-ran our itinerary like 3 hours and we can only be very glad that this salon was still willing to take us in at 9pm. If we were to follow the itinerary, we were supposed to have styled our hair by 6pm and be at Apujeong by 8pm! Things never follow as planned. I remembered I was lamenting that I can only wear my floral ootd till 6pm but haha!!! Caused we messed up the schedule, we get to wear the floral ootd till 11pm. :D
By the time we finished Myeongdong, it was like 10ish 11pm. We had to rush back to hotel to freshen up for clubbing!!! We were to be at Club Ellui by 10pm!
We took like almost 2 hours to remove make-up, shower, apply make-up again. Tsk tsk tsk and I seriously think I look VERY chio with the falsies. Haha.
We had yet to adjust to the cold so it was really cold despite the thick coats. I hate wearing stockings cause they made my feet hurt ALOT but bo bian. COLD~
So the very chio girls take another picture before leaving for Club Ellui.
Didn't quite know what to expect at the club but were cautioned to be careful so we were on high alert (initially).
But the entire mood in Club Ellui is damn high lah. Go in and see this is ji tao high ttm. I do not know why. We didn't even drink or see any eye candy yet but already feel super high. So we stood on the 2nd floor for a while and bio-ed the dance floor. I saw this very tall guy in tank top on the dance floor. My gut feel told me he will be handsome but then again, it could just be because he is tall, Haha. So we went down to dance floor to see him and also to get a drink. Didn't manage to see him and didn't manage to get our vodka redbull also. Ended up with a tequila shot and a BOTTLE of sprite for Bec. Haha.
Spent the rest of the night (2 hours) on the dance floor, I don't really dance in SG clubs but Club Ellui is damn high that I didn't stop dancing for 2 hours. Even though my feet were near breaking point and even though I didn't drink enough to make myself happy high and even though I was really hungry, Club Ellui made me forget all these.
3 best things about Club Ellui - 1. The guys are tall. 2. They are either handsome, cute or well-groomed. 3. Time passes way slower here.
Of course, I only remember the good things now. We managed to understand and overcome the culture shock at the end of 2 hours.
The very chio us ended the night at maybe 4ish am. Slept at around 6ish am. Supposed to wake up at 9am for Paju Premium Outlets but our mind and body were so exhausted that we only woke up at 1pm!!! Who sleep in till 1pm while on holidays one???
Still feeling the excitement while posting about Day 1. *on cloud nine*
