The Drink and Be Merry people

Just had a NY dinner with this group. Can't exactly remember when I upgraded from guest appearance. Sekali only I myself think I upgraded. Haha. It's amazing what holds these people together. Nonsense?

Alcohol? Clubbing? Steamboat? Haha. We have a group chat but it always revolves around nonsense ONLY. We never talk about serious stuff. The only serious moment that I can recall was when Yan was sharing bits of her more serious story in Coca last year or the year before?

Anyway... I got to know these people through Bec. Fun-loving and funny people. They lift up one's mood. Every distinct character.

Bec

I knew her when she joined ERC as the admin support for Fin programmes. Didn't chap too much about her as her training was done by ABCD and she spent the first 2 weeks lunching with ABCD and gang. All I knew was she has super high error rate by giving me postal code column for email address and her desktop wallpaper changes several times a day?! I was like 'this siao aye is too free until diam diam change wallpaper?' Of course, I asked her nicely and her reply was she will get bored of it quickly. But then again, how often you get to see your wallpaper? But never mind.

We went beyond the wallpaper stage when we happened to bump into each other at Devils and she went berserk and started slapping the floor when she knew I knew Cucumber. No exaggeration k. I was so afraid that Amilia will call me in for a talk cause this girl went berserk! Then we started the club thingy with the girls, Friday nights and clubbing. That's when I got to know the rest.

Peter, David, Jimmy, Michael

Knew them through clubbing. Was most 'familiar' with Peter. Funny guy but too funny to be taken seriously.

As far as I can remember, David is always quiet with his powerful outburst of funny statements at intervals. I do not quite remember us talking before until recently when he asked me 'How are you?', I was actually very shocked. Shocked in the sense... I don't think we talked before so this casual question is like REALLY out of the norm.

I knew about Jimmy's existence but probably only saw him once or twice. Got acquainted on the 1st MBS night. Generally quiet. Kena suay siao also give a 'what you talking about' smile. Will be very passionate and talkative when he is on the hair topic. I hanged out with him and Coven once and I was kinda stunned by their conversations. It's all about hair! 'Do your salon do this kind of treatment?' 'Do your salon has this machine?' I didn't even have a chance to act engaged or interested.

Used to see Michael only in clubs. Walked past, said Hi and Bye. Actually, men do get long-winded when older hor. Haha.

Ah Jo

First impression = fierce. Cause she is really fierce and she bears such a strong to one of my cousins and I am not a great fan of my cousin so that 'I don't like my cousin' is tagged to Ah Jo. Drunk liao also very nonsense. Quoting Bec, not happy also drink, happy also drink, (we) very bo eng. Yes, I agree.

Yan

Knew about her even way before I get to meet her. But then again, Bec used to have this habit of introducing everyone to everyone and updating everyone about everyone so it is no surprise if we knew each other even before meeting.

Ge yan woman. Dun see her like vain pot, like bo study, only diam diam bling her nails until cannot bling, she talks with 深度 (at times). Her nonsense and laughter is contagious. The life of every party but if she makes an effort to sit still and keep quiet, she is very sweet.

Lionel

Got to know him for a couple of years through Peter? Peter has this thing of bringing his friends along for the gatherings. Everytime I asked Lionel what he isdoing now, his standard answer is 'I am leaving my current company le'. Haha. 

Not forgetting Yvonne who is away in HK. Probably the closest besides Bec. Spent some trio time before and some Friday nights. Recently, it evolved into hardcore shopping khakis and the forever beauty and fashion consultant for Bec and I.

It is amazing how people from different backgrounds and different walks of life crossed each other's path and some, somehow, became and remained friends. Isn't it?
