Am so unfamilar with the new photo upload and it takes me AGES to upload the photos, not forgetting the number of times it hang on me. I nearly lost control to either crush my laptop, kill myself or kill the next person who irriates me. Haha. We all are still in one piece.

Long overdue post about our Gold Coast trip. Well... Scoot was having very attractive fare to Gold Coast and we thought 'why not?' Took a night flight on 13 Jul and to reach Gold Coast on 14 Jul in the early morning. Pretty comfy seats on Scoot but the flight was too noisy to have a good rest. Only manage a few hours of sleep. :( But well, tickets are cheap so we will definitely choose Scoot again. :)

Day 1 - 14 Jul
8 of us rented a car. Waiting to collect our vehicle and Aussies definitely have a different definition of '5 mnutes' and 'a short while'. Stupid people in general.

After collecting our car, we drove straight to Habour Town for breakfast, shopping and grocery.

Their "Star" breakfast, real cheap but terrible taste too. :(
My mocha to keep me awake.
When everyone is done with their shopping, we headed to Woolworths for our BBQ night and water supply.

Our nice car in our cosy car porch.

Pretty nice house with lots of faulty stuff, BBQ pit, water heater, microwave oven and sucky landlord.
Small cosy room.

Settled into the house and the guys cracked their brains over the itinerary.
Since Aussies close their shops early, we didn't have much choice. Drove round the corner to grab some fish & chips. Was so looking forward to GOOD fish & chips (like the ones we had in Hobart) but it is just so disappointing. :(
Nowhere better to 'enjoy' the fish & chips and we settled for the beach.

Sky is getting dark but it is only 4pm.

Drove back home and started preparing for our BBQ. Everyone survived!

Hong - cooking his beef excitedly.
Our great chefs for the night.
Food will taste real great if the stove works properly.

Day 2 - 15 Jul
Plan for the day - Mount Tamborine.
NICE view but SERIOUSLY COLD.
The guy feels cold too.

Since the skywalk has yet to open, we headed for breakfast.
Nice pancakes.
Waiting for the glow worms tour to start.

Basically, we paid AUD11 to watch a 5 min video on glow worms and another 10 mins in a dark cave full of glow worms. The glow worms just look like stars in a night sky.

Then after, we drove to a winery not to drink wine but to cam whore. Haha.

Drove further down to grab these beers. Bought 2 sets to share.

 I like drinking.

The skywalk! Nice view but the most important thing is the cool temperature. The cool temperature makes everything nicer!

The walk didn't take us long to complete and we drove to Brisbane DFO for some shopping. Nah, we didn't really shop as we did our summer shopping in HK. Bought towels and slippers for ourselves and kids. AUD10 for Havianas!

After DFO, we drove back home to frshen up before dinner at Shuck.

 Yummy crab lasagne.

Ending the dinner with my sweet wild oats rose. :)

Headed to the casino. The guys are the main players while we girls just hang around, acting chio. Haha.

Day 3 - 16 Jul
We decided that it shall be a relaxing day. Had breakfast (I am still craving for the ham and cheese wrap) at Surfers Paradise and was shopping around for good deals to MovieWorld and whale watching. In the end, we decided to save the money on whale watching and to catch the whales on our own. Phew! I am sure I will never survive the whale watching trip.

Destination - Bryon's Bay. Drove off from Surfers Paradise and stopped along the way for nice scenery, kfc, toy shopping and fruit shopping.

 Beautiful beach, sky and sand.

Surprisingly, there are lots of able people who are not working but surfing and nua-ing around beach. Tsk tsk.

 Finally, we reached Bryon's Bay.

Climbed thousands of steps before we reached to this breath-taking place but it is all worth the tiredness and sweat (if any).

You can seriously see the whales at the peak of Bryon's. But at the moment, the whales aren't the highlights anymore. the scenery is. Sun sets real early in Aussie and we had to hurry back down to our car. Had a long drove back home to freshen up before we headed to casino for some buffet dinner (not worth) and more gambling.

I enjoyed this day the most!

Day 4 - 17 Jul
MovieWorld! Was really looking forward to it but crap.

Started with some stunt driver performance and it is real good. Easily the best thing for the day.

The 3D or 4D show. If you been to USS, there is no more kick from this. :(

The only ride we took but it is really good. The turnings are so sharp that you feel as if you will be swung out of the tiny car and not forgetting the great height and darkness.

The entire place is so small that we combed it in no time. Walked a few rounds doing nothing and finally decided on a round of bumper car which is really slow. Beyond our comprehension is we are not allowed to bring our bags onto the bumper car for safety reason but we are allowed to bring our bags for thr Scooby-doo ride. Our bags could flew out anytime.

Everyone was so disappointed that we lost our mood for anything.

Left the place of lots of grumbling. Drove around in search for better fish & chips. Arrived at the shopping mall (The Pacific Place) at 4.30pm and only to realise that we have only 30 minutes to shop cause the shops close at 5pm. Really nua ah. Sian ttm. We bought some scent (for our bathroom) and canvas paintings (for the kids).

Rested at home till dinner time for Eagle Boys pizzas. Totally yucky. Getting sick of western food and ang moh breakfast. Missing the fishball noodles, chicken rice etc etc.

Made our way to the casino for our last round of killing. I won AUD50 on jackpot using only AUG10 and Hong managed to cover his losses for the past nights too. Most of us went back early to rest, leaving only the more hardcare people behind to make their last killing.

Day 5 - 18 JulWoke up early to check out of the house and to return the car. Didn't had time for breakfast and we settled for in-flight food. Food portion is insufficient. Slept all the way back to SG. Chiong-ed for chinese food the moment we landed. Yummy herbal soup and hokkien mee.

Looking forward to our next trip, perhaps in 2013. :)
