Yup, HK kinda become our summer retreat.
It's summer shopping time! I was so looking forward to the trip cause it's time to shop for the year. I don't exactly shop in Singapore anymore cause busy, crowds and expensive.
To save some cost, we took Tiger which is a TERRIBLE choice.
Landed and headed straight for xgg's place. Dropped our bags, applied make-up before heading for some yummy porridge (recommended by Collin).
I tried a similar one back in Jan but I wasn't too impressed. Likewise, I was not too impressed again. I guess it has nothing to do with the porridge. I am just not a fan of cantonese porridge.
One unique feature of such eatery is their size and seating. The stall is super small, seating like 5 tables but they have 10 staff with individual responsibility. Without the luxury of space, you cannot afford to choose which table to sit at and you have to share table with strangers invading your private space. It can get a little uncomfy. Definitely needs time to adjust.
We headed to Times Square for shopping after porridge before meeting up with Aaron for dinner. Aaron is so nice to accompany us shoppping, queue-ing to try the clothes, queue-ing to pay etc.
The soup is awesome! We had bowls of it and it's refillable.
Collagen to add into the soup. We all became youthful after the dinner. Keke.
Nice guy but he can be really indecisive and troublesome. He reminds me so much of Dennis Oh. What am I getting myself into?
Yummy.
Once again, we had to share the table with 3 others and we 3 were seated opposite them. Kinda awkward cause distance is too close and we are facing complete strangers. And the thing is they are probably tourists too so we had 6 people speaking english at the same table.
U-Boat. That's our story and I was not drunk (!). I was just talking LOUDLY! Wahaha.
Our loot for Day 1. Disappointing. Nothing much to buy. :(
Met up with Yvonne for morning tea @ IFC Lei Garden on Day 2. It's strange that I do really miss her. Singapore seems a little quieter and less fun without her around.
After morning tea, we left Hong at IFC Zara while we bitched our way to H&M. Shopping time! She is a great shopping khaki and we shared pretty similar tastes for clothes. Crazy woman probably bought as much stuff as me.
Took a break and that's their ICED milk tea.
Wantan mee not nice today. :(
After the short rest, we headed for more shopping! Both of us spent the remaining afternoon at F21 while Hong went to shop on his own. The man can really shop too.
Glad that we decided not to catch the fireworks cause we wanted more time for shopping but who knows, we managed to catch the full show while eating dinner in a nice air con place. no crowd, no hot weather. :)
We must be insane! In less than 30 minutes, we decided to have supper. It is a miracle to get a seating in this jap restaurant and since there was no queue, it' a sign to try though we were super full. I probably ate 1-2 pieces.
Day 3 and we headed over to SZ. Didn't stay at our usual hangout. We wentured a little further to their furniture malls and wholesale centre. Never felt so unsafe before and I don't even dare to eat their food. I mean how do we know we are eating real food? Yucks!
Place is bad, weather is hot, people are disgusting, back is unusually painful. Finally, we decided to head back to familiar grounds. Bagged some really cheap clothes before heading back to our usuall hangout. Will I go back to that disgusting place again? NO!!! The people are really.... arrgh....
Another new luggage but that is for Lincoln.
Nice view for our brunch.
Watched too much HK dramas and we are really curious about private dining and xgg brought us to Xi Yan.
Really excellent combination of dishes. Innovative and nice!
It is more of the man's day. He is the only one who shopped at Horizon. I ended the day with a pair of jeans, a pair of heels (my current favourite) and some masks.
Last day le. :(
Had lunch with xgg at the nice frid rice restaurant. Food with xgg never goes wrong.
With only that few hours left, we split to do our own separate shopping. I bagged 2 jackets and 2 pairs of shoes. I have this strange afinity with Pedder Red. I bought 2 pairs last year but I never once wore them. Likewise, I have yet to wear the new ones yet.
Back to HK again in Dec with kiddos!!!!
