Happy Children's Day!!!
.
The centre sort of celebrated Children's Day yesterday. Nothing fanciful or official. Just that we cancelled the enrichment lessons for the day... Centre prepared 'party' lunch with soft drinks and goodies... Individual teachers are allowed to prepare something extra for their class or favourite students.
.
Being the form teacher for P5, I am sort of obligated to get the whole class (I didn't sift out my favourite students) something extra out of my own pocket. My original intention was to get them small gifts till someone requested for pizza OUT OF NOWHERE (I will explain on my emphasis on 'out of nowhere' later) Since I never had the intention for a feast treat, I was reluctant till my MIL offered to share the pizza feast with me. So... my class ended up with gifts (model car or plane for the boys and pencil for the girls) and Rite pizza.
.
Seriously... I didn't mind getting them both the feast and gifts with or without sponsorship from my MIL. I am not being 'gey gao' about the money. I am very offended by the attitudes of the children today. Seriously offended. I remember we were being brought up not to demand anything from people, to kindly reject any gifts and to always appreciate any kind gestures. I wonder where did all these good manners disappear to. I can't find a single trait on the younger generation today. I never make known my intention to get my class anything (not even gifts or feast). OUT OF NOWHERE!!! Some child approached me and asked 'Can you get us pizza on Children's Day?' I was and am still stunned by his question loh. I mean... What makes you think I have to buy for you? I am not exactly obligated to buy anything for you on Children's Day and moreover, the centre already prepared goodies loh. Never mind~ Not wanting to disappoint them, I fulfilled their wish. BUT!!! Did anyone express their appreciation or gratitude or thanks? Other than the few adorable ones (especially Andrew who is real sweet. He offered me a slice of the pizza and made sure it was a slice with lots of ingredients), none of them said 'Thank You' loh! They just simply take it for granted!!! What is the world coming to? In the end, they still need to fight over the tidbits. Arrgh!!!
.
The children are all being brought up in the wrong way loh. No doubt the parents are treating them like young adults and always engaging them in discussions and listening to their opinions, these kids end up being so self-centred and selfish. And worst of all, they are so self-opinionated. There were so many occasions when I really felt like telling them off in their face 'If you think so highly of yourself, then don't come and ask me.'
.
It is even more so irritating task to get them to do their homework or even show a little enthusiasm for their OWN studies. These kids actually throw tantrums and grumble under their breath when you actually remind or push them to do their homework. Many a times I wanted to tell them off too but I didn't cause I can't. Haha.
.
Well... Kinda 'off' to keep complaining about these children on their big day. Haha~ Anyway... I will bear these ugly traits in mind so that I will try my utmost best to prevent my little angel from turning into a spoilt brat. I can't say for sure I will be an excellent mum but I do hope that my little princess will be at least a well-mannered one. Haha.
.
Andrew is soooooooo adorable!!!

Rob Schneider!!! I didn't know he has this new production until Darl told me about it. I guessed he knew I am getting bored with my life and he tries to make the extra effort on weekends. I really do appreciate that! Yes!!! Life is getting bored with my mundane job and no special activities. And I think the confinement period is going to be worse cause my appetite will be very controlled. So controlled that I will not be allowed any soft drinks or ice cream or junk food. At least I can still enjoy these now once in a while. Back to the movie... Rob Schneider is one of my favourite. I fell in love with him nearly 10 years ago when he starred in 'Male Gigglo'. This is my kind of movie lah. Hilarious! For those who know me well enough, you will know what to expect from this movie.
.
On a side note, I didn't quite like 'Zohan' and 'Harold and Kumar'. Those are way too lame le.
