We received our first blessing (as in ang pow) on Labour Day!!! It was a rare meet-up with Wenmei and Gary. I last saw them on last year at their wedding and Darl probably last met them at least 3 years ago. It was such a coincidence that they will be flying off to Japn on 28 June and therefore, they have no choice but to give our wedding a miss. And yet, Wenmei is so sweet to suggest a meet-up lunch and totally not expecting it. they actually gave us an ang pow in advance.
.
Just as what I told Darl... Wenmei can be a very nice and steady friend. We used to hang out in sec 3 & 4 and even till JC though we went to different schools. Despite the distance (my JC very far leh), she made the extra effort to travel all the way to east just to meet me in my school... Be it crashing into the various activities or simply nua. We drifted in uni or rather I drifted away. I realised that as we grew up, the disparity in our perspective of life became more apparent and most of the times, I do not see eye to eye with her. We never quarrel/ argue, at least not that I can recall of. However, instead of hanging out with her that often and having to compromise my own viewpoints, I choose to lead the life the way I want.
.
After so many years, the difference in perspective doesn't quite matter anymore because we both got quite what we wanted and whatever difference there was is no longer our central concern. Anyway, I am really grateful to her for bothering to send us their blessings.
