After numerous reminders from both my parents and Darl, I finally completed the e-filing for marriage yesterday. After the completion, I feel slightly pissed! Haha. I had to pay S$26 for getting married!!! Do not get me wrong. I have nothing against the government. Those who know me well enough know that I am super pro-government. But it sounds absurd to me that I have to pay just for registration of my marriage!!! I was telling Darl that I find it ridiculous that we have to pay even for such a thing and his reply was 'This is Singapore'.

Haha. Now it makes perfect sense. However, to me... The government wants to encourage us to get married and start the pro-creation process early and yet, they are charging us for this!!! Same goes for the increased ERP gantries. We first had the COE system to curb the number of cars travelling on our small island. However, look at the number of cars on the road now. There are more cars than ever and cars used to be a luxury item but right now, it has become affordable to every other person in Singapore. So our dear government had the ERP gantries, hoping to deter the car owners from using their own cars and use the public transport instead. Trains and buses are super packed nowadays, be it during peak or off-peak hours. Then we have cabs which is part of public transport, aren't they? Yet, a trip from town to my home can cost easily between S$20+ to S$30 which is inclusive of the ERP charges which are still borne by consumers when they heed the government's advice and use public transport. What a genius plan.

Nothing much... Just feel like grumbling. Despite so... I still love here as my HOME!
