Aussie Sales Meeting 2014

Since GES grouped Singapore under Australia, we were informed in Dec 2013 that we will not be having our usual asia sales meeting. Instead, we will be travelling to Australia!!! Definitely excited about travelling to Gold Coast, Australia but is the sales meeting going to be as intensive and nerve-wrecking?

Being the kiasu Singaporeans, we kept asking what are the pre-work to be done? We had been so used to the  4D3N of intensive brainstorming, solution building, presentation and lastly, striving to be the top team and wild card. Yet, till the day we leave for Australia, no pre-work was required.

The Australia Sales Meeting is very very very different from Asia Sales Meeting. Asia Sales Meeting is very competitive-based. We spend every minute building the solutions for the assigned case studies. Our typical day starts no later than 7.30am and ends not earlier than 9.30pm. Not forgetting we usually continue clearing our emails after 9.30pm. It used to be a tiring week.

I guess the Australians didn't really expect us to join them. There wasn't much involvement required. Their format is entirely different. No case study, no presentation, no OT needed, purely sharing. The days start late at 9am and ends punctually at 5pm with 2 30 minutes in between. What a luxury! We never had such a relaxed sales meeting before. We were so free that we cleared our emails during the day and spend the evenings drinking and shopping.

Our tequila queen who only joins us on the last night for drinks. She wasn't expecting tequila for the trip though.

Our tequila queen was buay song when we wanted to take picture. Her rationale is we treat her like an exhibit. Our rationale is we want to take picture with our tequila queen!

Tequila queen became slightly happy after a drink. :)

The team after D&D.

I guess the sales meeting will always be in Australia. Is it going to be that relaxed? We dread the long economy flight, sleepy during the meeting but loves the FREE drinks nightly!
