I guess I will try to blog on a daily basis for the next one month so that Darl can know about my happenings in Singapore while he is working in South Africa. Well... I don't think my daily life will be anywhere near exciting but I will still blog my daily happenings since I will not have the opportunity/ luxury to chat with Darl. At the same time... others will not have the excuse to term my blog as ge stagnant when hers is just as stagnant. haha.
.
After sending Darl off this morning, I went back home to nua before driving to work. Haven't been driving for a long long while. Was a little worried in the first place. Haha. I am not worried about my driving. I am always more at ease when I am alone. I get a bit 'buay zai' while I have other passengers. My only worry was parking but I had a wonderful day! I had wonderful lots and my parking was close to perfection! Haha.
.
Anyway... I have a case. How do we help a 'gein' child? I have finally tamed Mr Repeat. He had stopped his habit of repeats. However, I realise he is a very smart child but smart not in the very right way. See the below examples.
.
Incident 1
In preparation for SA 1, I got the class to attempt Eng test paper and the top 5 will be rewarded. Almost all other students asked what is the reward. However, Mr Repeat took me off guard with his question 'Is the 1st going to get a better prize than the rest?' Before I managed to reply him, he was already doing his test paper conscientiously, hoping to be the 1st.

Incident 2
Mr Repeat was kind enough to lend his stapler to his classmates. However, after examining his staplets supply, he approached me for staplets. Initially, I thought he ran out of staplets but there was nothing I could help him as I do not have any staplets. After some understanding, I realised he wanted to use mine to top up his low supply. In short, he just wanted someone to give him free staplets.
.
Incident 3
Right immediately after the staplets issue, he saw some teacher's stationery in the classroom. His face immediately lit up and asked 'Are these free?' Of course they are not free. Anyway, I told him they are not free and in fact, they belonged to another teacher. Then, he asked if he can use the stationery as he did not want to use his.
.
Incident 4
This incident serioualy took me off guard. I was testing him 'ting xie' and I told him if he had more than 5 wrong characters, he would have to retest. In the end, he got more than 10 mistakes. Knowing his ability in Chinese, I gave him an option of doing corrections (3x per character) or retest. Based on my past experience, almost all students choose to do corrections only. However, Mr Repeat told me he wants to think about it. I am sorry about this but deep in my heart at that point, I was like 'Got so difficult to decide anot?'. Anyway, after 5 minutes, he came to a decision to retest and do you know how he came to that conclusion?! He used the 5 minutes to count the numbers of words he had to write under the different circumstance of retest and corrections and his calculations told him that it is more 'worthwhile' to retest. *faint*
.
Maybe I am biased... But I seriously think there is something wrong with him.
