APC Open House
.
The very 1st Saturday which requires me to work... APC Open House. As we are sharing the same compound with Fairfield Pri and 99.9% of our students come from Fairfield Pri, we synchronize our Open House with their Orientation Day for the Pri Ones in 2008. In order to prepare for this Open House, I worked OT on Fri till 9pm (missing out JC's mahjong invitation) and woke up 6.40am on Sat morn!!! And I was also tasked to conduct a sales training for the teachers and student ambassadors. Well... Aunty Esther wanted to 'tap' onto my previous sales/ marketing experience but I have only been with them for 3 months and there is A LOT to be learnt loh. I lack the relevant industry knowledge and I do not even know the basic of APC. Anyway, it doesn't quite matter cause the rest of the teachers who had a longer stay than me knew nothing more than me. With some help from Aunty Linda and Mrs Ho and some bluff techniques (learnt from Andy), I manged to pull off the whole sales training. Phew~
.
There were 5 teachers who were assigned as 'sales' personnel which means that we are required to handle the enquiries from the parents and hopefully, close them on the spot. It has been 3 months since I last speak to a client. It is a refreshing experience and no doubt, sometimes I do miss all the corporate stuff etc etc etc, nothing matters more than a smile from my students now.
.
The 'sales' teachers were all assigned a student ambassador who is tasked to bring the parents around the centre for a tour. The above jovial girl, Jolene is my assigned ambassador. She has great potential to be a GREAT sales person man! When she knew I was her assigned teacher, she stopped addressing me as 'Miss Angela' but rather 'Boss'. WOW! So young and yet, she knows who is the provider of her 'rice bowl' and how to bootlick her superior. 'Boss'. Also, in the midst of my sales pitch to 2 potential clients, she poured me a glass of cold water and told me 'You talked so much le. You need to drink water'. WOW! Tell me she has NO potential to be an outstanding sales person! She definitely knows who and how to please THE person.
.
Nerissa_Me_ Paulie. Pri 1 little angels.
.
Paulie is my FAVOURITE Pri 1 girl. As she is super camera shy and if not for this Open House, I doubt I would be able to take a picture together with her. I simply fall in love with her at first sight (just like how I fall in love with Leonard, madly in love) cause she has this super striking resemblance to my young god-sis. My god-sis spent her 1st 5 years with my family. She spent almost the entire 365 days in a year at my house and my family is super attached to her. Well... When her parents brought her home when she was 6, I felt empty and now... We only get to see her during CNY for half hour. *sad* When I first see Paulie, I can't help but to exclaim to her that she looks just like my god-sis.
.

Me_Amos (Pri 3).
.
Isn't he adorable? He is a long distance athlete specializing in 1.6km run. This little devil is challenging me to a 1.6km and 400m run during the Dec Holidays. Please loh... I am 16 years older than him and I had yet to run since JC, how to win him? His personal best record for 1.6km is 8 mins. My personal best record for 1.6km was 9 mins but that was when I was in Pri 6. Haha. Confirm lose one. Anyway, I told him I confirm lose one but he still wants to challenge me cause he wants to enjoy the 'high' feeling of defeating an adult. -_- The best thing is... He reminds me EVERYDAY of the challenge.
.
Xin Min ("gin" girl younger sis)_Me.
.
2 new kids whom I befriended... Patrina and Crystal (hope I got their names spelt correctly).
.
When all kids gather together to have fun, all hell break loose!
.
p/s: the boy standing on the water bed is Godfrey (Highly intelligent).
.

Me and the kids. See the duckie behind? That is actually a GIANT bedroom, just like the one Desmond bought for Andy as Xmas present 3 years back and... Godfrey is wearing it on his head... Camera shy~
.
Everyone @ APC.
.
I am not close to them as it is just a temp job (to me) and most importantly, I can't stand the way some of the teachers work. I guess Andy has trained me in such a way that I hate working with people who are slow and nua with no initiative. Anyway, I am not bitchy at work here at all cause I am not staying for long and I simply do not wish to clash with anyone here.
.
Aunty Judy (first row in white cap) reminds me of Amilia. She reminds me of how Amilia took the extra effort to make me feel at ease at ERC when I first joined ERC.
.
Aunty Linda (2nd row, 2nd from left) really makes work enjoyable. I really feel comfortable when I am at work with her. She is professional, strict and yet, friendly to the students. The students respect her and yet, she is a mother figure to them. I guess she must have substantial corporate experience. The way she carries herself and the way she handles things are just the very characteristics of someone whom I would truly enjoy working with when I was still in the corporate world.
.
Work finally ended at 2pm and I was dead beat. Not the same kind of tiredness from Career Fair but just feel super duper sleepy. I guessed it was probably due to the fact that I woke up at 6.30am when I only slept at 1.30am on Fri night.
