After 3 Years...

After 3 years, all I get from him is a thrashing when the numbers are not met. I told him I do not wish to say anything or defend for myself. I have tried to meet his expectations for 3 years though I have still failed to do so. He is a nice boss who treats me well enough with respect and I truly respect him from the the bottom of my heart. However, it hurts when he tries to put you for all he can so as to get you to slog your life away for him.
3 years... I had 3 years of beautifully crafted lies, unfulfilled promises, disillusions etc etc. If I have yet to deliever what you expect, what about the promises you made? You did delivered some of them, what about the rest? I may not have contributed 100% of my potential but whatever I have done is for the good of the company. But you disregard my efforts and only concentrate on the numbers and money. Inflexible I may seem but that should be the principle behind it.
As I said in your room, I do not wish to say anything or defend for myself. Time will tell who has been thinking from company's perspective and who has been working hard for you purely for his/ her 'personal satisfaction'. You may be influential but the world does not revolve around you. You want things along your timeline but you need to take into consideeration of others' timeline.

Mood was already disrupted by this session but the day ended well with Darl being thoughtful enough to purposely make a detour down to Circular Road to pick me up.
A nice surprise was waiting for me at home when I unexpectedly received a card from Jess! From Australia! Jess, as what Bec mentioned... This card came just at the right time too! Thanks.

I can understand how you feel... Though he might be looking at numbers only because that's the only surface to judge a company's health, he has made the whole environment very sales-oriented like a sales company rather than an education company. It could be good for the company temporarily, but in the end he loses friends each day.

As i quote him 'sales is the lifeline of every business' but each successful business doesn't just rely on sales alone. Nevertheless, he is definitely a good boss.
